Oladipupo Ogunbiyi

Mr. Ogunbiyi has over 17 years’ experience in investment banking and finance, as a sector agnostic specialist in capital markets (equity and debt) and M&A in sub-Saharan Africa. Over his career, he has been involved in transactions in excess of US$2 billion, including advising on investments totalling US$550m by the Public Investment Corporate of South Africa in Dangote Cement and Ecobank, the US$80m investment in Niger Delta E&P by African Capital Alliance and the US$500m dual IPO of SEPLAT on the Nigerian and London Stock Exchanges.

Prior to joining First Ally Capital, he was the Head of Equity Capital Markets at FBN Merchant Bank where he was responsible for championing the firm’s Financial Sponsor coverage strategy. In this role, he managed relationships with Africa-focused private equity funds based in London, Paris and Johannesburg. He has also worked at Renaissance Capital, UBA Capital (now United Capital) and FCMB Capital Markets Limited.

Mr. Ogunbiyi has a BA from the Lagos State University and an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.
